Boat Ramp Permit

Forsyth County Parks & Recreation manages the boat ramps at Charleston Park, Six Mile Creek Park and Young Deer Creek Park. A daily pass or annual permit must be purchased from Forsyth County to utilize the boat ramps. 

Where can I get a daily pass?
1. Onsite at Charleston Park, Six Mile Creek Park or Young Deer Creek Park using the automated payment machines

Where can I get an annual permit?
1. Onsite at Charleston Park, Six Mile Creek Park or Young Deer Creek Park using the automated payment machines*
2. In person at Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center, 4075 Spot Road, Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Boat Ramp Fees
Annual day-user permit: $ 40.00
Annual day-user permit  55+: $ 20.00
Daily user fee: $ 5.00
No refunds will be issued for daily passes or annual permits.  

*Those who purchase an annual permit from the payment machine will have seven days to redeem the receipt in person at Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center. An official annual permit will be issued and is valid for one year from the date of purchase.
